Want to spice up your yard? Have land that’s unusable due to those annoying slopes? Well, we have the Solution!

BEFORE AFTER
Retaining walls can be installed for a variety of purposes, such as a landscaping feature, or to separate different portions of your outdoor living space or simply adding an aesthetic appeal. Retaining walls are more commonly utilised to prevent soil erosion and create flat zones on a sloping piece of land.
Here are 6 reasons why you should install a retaining wall:
Retaining walls create more usable space. See the before and after photos for reference. In the before photo the land is on an angle and there isn’t much usable space there for a trampoline or sitting area for example. By adding the retaining wall and levelling the land it has created a more usable flat area.
Retaining walls Prevent Erosion of land it is retaining.
Retaining walls help to divert Rainwater and control Flooding.
Retaining walls reduce yard maintenance.
Retaining walls can Enhance your Home Value.
Retaining walls add an aesthetic appeal to your yard by making it look nice and ‘put together’.
There are many different materials that can be used for the Retaining wall but here are the ones that we consider to be the most popular:
Concrete Sleepers: - Many different patterns, styles to pick from. - Last longer and are more durable compared to the Timber Sleeper Wall
Timber Sleepers: - Timber sleepers are less expensive compared to the concrete sleepers, but they are not as durable and will not last forever. As timber over time can rot and break. When installing this wall, you will have to consider in the long run it will need to be replaced.
Sandstone Blocks
Bricks: - Many different patterns, styles to pick from
Another cool thing about the Timber and concrete sleepers, they can also be used as “stepping stones” if you want more of a log look compared to square pavers
Below are some photos of our projects we have completed!
